  • Support the Manager with team workflow, oversight and delivery of supervisory priorities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of Bank-wide strategies and initiatives, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply sound judgement to resolve complex issues and build trust with management and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct high-quality research and analysis using a range of data and analytical techniques, clearly communicating insights through written and verbal outputs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical advice across the Bank to support decision-making and prudential policy development.
  • Build strong relationships across the Bank, the public sector, other central banks and relevant organisations to strengthen insights and collaboration.

Ō pūkenga – About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Around 7+ years’ relevant experience in banking, insurance, financial markets, economics, accounting, law, or a regulatory/central banking environment, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Understanding of the New Zealand financial system, prudential regulation, and economic–financial system interactions, or a strong interest in developing this knowledge, along with awareness of global and domestic economic issues.
  • Experience leading analytical, policy, statistical or financial initiatives and workstreams, with the ability to identify policy-relevant issues.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to think holistically across complex issues in a dynamic team environment.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and eligibility to obtain and maintain the required NZ National Security Clearance.
